Rural Life in the Bay of Plenty - Inspiration in Every Corner

When people ask where our designs come from, the answer is simple: they come from the life we live. Out here in the Bay of Plenty, our inspiration is stitched into the hills, rivers, and paddocks that surround us every day.

Stacey | The Organised Half

Stacey is mum to three, a vet nurse by trade, and the calm, steady organiser that keeps everything (and everyone) on track. Together with her husband, raising, training, and selling horses is very much a family affair. Hunting and horse riding aren’t just hobbies in their household, they’re a way of life, and the kids are growing up with boots on their feet and reins in their hands.

Sally | The Creative Half

I’m Sally an artist, stay-at-home mum of four, and the chaotic creative heart behind Little Fallow. Together with my husband we live on a small acreage where we have sheep, cattle, and horses. When I’m not chasing kids, I’m sketching ideas that often come straight from our daily life - the housecow and her calf, the curve of a stag’s antlers, the playful chaos of animals on the farm. Fishing, hunting, and exploring the land with my family are constant reminders of how lucky we are to call this place home.

Everyday Life, Everyday Inspiration

Our designs are born from the everyday wild Kiwi life we live , early mornings in the yards, kids riding bareback down the paddock, muddy boots by the door, and evenings spent chatting around the dinner table. These moments, small and big, weave their way into the fabric of Little Fallow.

Whether it’s a cow sketch that started from watching Brownie the house cow- a Calf Club pet originally nursing her first fresh calf, or watching the pig-hunting dogs that inspired one of our muslin designs, every product carries a piece of this life with it.

Rooted in Rural NZ

We’re proud that Little Fallow isn’t just a brand, but a reflection of two country women balancing motherhood, animals, and creativity. Our rural roots run deep, and every tea towel, muslin, or cushion you take home carries with it a little piece of the Bay of Plenty and the wild Kiwi life we love.

We are creating pieces of art- that are useful and practical.
